Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating a Crumb account or using the Crumb application, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you're using Crumb on behalf of an organisation, you're agreeing on that organisation's behalf, and you confirm you have authority to do so.

2. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to use Crumb. Crumb is currently invitation-only during closed early access — accounts are created by an administrator inviting you, not through open self-service sign-up.

Authentication & security responsibilities

• You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity that happens under your account.
• Tell us immediately at support@crumbmoney.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
• Use a strong, unique password. Two-factor authentication is not yet available in the product — we'll update these terms when it is.

3. What Crumb is — and isn't

Crumb is an expense-tracking and organisation tool: it helps you record what you've paid, what's coming up, and where your money is going.

Crumb is not:

• A bank, e-money institution, or payment processor — Crumb never moves, holds, or has access to your actual money, and does not connect directly to your bank accounts or cards.
• A source of financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice. Nothing in Crumb should be treated as advice, and you should consult a qualified professional for decisions that matter.
• Accounting software or a book-keeping system of record for regulatory/tax filing purposes.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the financial information you enter into Crumb, and for any decisions you make based on it.

4. Your content & our licence to it

You own the data you put into Crumb — your expenses, categories, notes, and everything else you enter. We don't claim ownership of it.

To operate the service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, store, process, back up, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing Crumb to you and your organisation. We will not use your content for any other purpose, including training third-party AI/ML models, without your explicit consent.

5. Your responsibilities

• Provide accurate information when setting up your account and entering financial data.
• Use Crumb only for lawful purposes.
• Keep your login credentials secure.
• If you manage other members of your organisation, use that access responsibly and in accordance with your organisation's own policies.

6. Prohibited use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to Crumb, other users' accounts, or any organisation's data you're not a member of.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the service, except where applicable law expressly permits it.
• Use Crumb to store or transmit unlawful content, or to facilitate fraud, money laundering, or any illegal financial activity.
• Interfere with or disrupt the service, including via excessive automated requests, scraping, or attempts to bypass rate limits or security controls.
• Use Crumb to build a competing product using data or access obtained through your account.

7. Organisations & workspaces

Crumb organises data into organisations and, within them, workspaces. The Super Admin of an organisation has broad administrative control over that organisation's members and data — if you're joining an existing organisation, you're accepting that its administrators can see and manage data within it, subject to our Privacy Policy.

8. Third-party services

Crumb relies on third-party infrastructure providers (see our Privacy Policy for the current list) to operate. We're not responsible for outages or issues originating from those providers, though we'll work to restore service as quickly as we reasonably can.

9. Early access & future pricing

Crumb is currently in closed early access and is free to use during this period. Features, availability, and stability may change without the same notice we'd give for a generally-available product.

We expect to introduce paid plans in the future. We will give existing early-access users reasonable advance notice before introducing charges for functionality you're already using, and nothing in these terms should be read as committing us to specific future pricing that hasn't been announced.

10. Intellectual property

The Crumb name, logo, and product design are our intellectual property (or licensed to us). Except for the limited right to use the service as intended, these terms don't grant you any rights to our trademarks, branding, or underlying software.

11. Availability & changes to the service

We aim to keep Crumb available and reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, and we may add, change, or remove features as the product evolves — we'll try to communicate changes that materially affect how you use Crumb.

12. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms, including the prohibited-use rules in Section 6, or if required to do so by law. You can stop using Crumb at any time. See our Privacy Policy for the current state of account/data deletion, which is manual (via support@crumbmoney.com) during early access while a self-service option is still being built.

13. Disclaimers

Crumb is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including — to the extent permitted by law — implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that any financial figures it calculates will be free from mistakes; you're responsible for reviewing your own data.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Crumb and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

15. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of Crumb or your violation of these terms, except to the extent caused by our own breach or negligence.

16. Governing law

Crumb is operated by Athena Private Management FZCO, registered in the United Arab Emirates (see Section 1 above).

17. Changes to these terms

We review these terms whenever a product or business change might materially affect them, and we version every update. You can see the full history in our change log. If a change materially affects your rights, we'll notify you directly rather than relying on a silent update to this page.
